The strength and involvement of a child’s support system is critical to the success of therapy. Securing the cooperation and support of family members, teachers, and other human service professionals is essential to implementing a plan for healthy growth and development.
My experience in the education system helps me to design therapeutic approaches that are age appropriate. Play therapy, art therapy and bibliotherapy are a few of the techniques employed during counseling sessions.
I am committed to helping children identify and explore their concerns; gain self-understanding and self-acceptance; develop independence and responsibility; and strengthen social relationships. Through the therapeutic relationship children are encouraged to discover and experiment with alternative ways of thinking, feeling, and behaving. |
